“I am expressing deep concern at the massive casualties and damages caused by the cyclone Komen in Teknaf and Moheshkhali of the Cox’s Bazar district and Saint Martins’ island. During the storm, one man killed in Saint Martin’s island, 4 including a child in Moheshkhali and another one killed in Golachipa of the Potuakhali district. Some 20 villages have been submerged by the flood water in Teknaf and hundreds of houses have been destroyed in the Saint Martins’ island. The living residents of the island are passing moments at life risk now.
I am urging the authorities concerned to send sufficient amount of relief in the cyclone affected area along with house repairing items for the homeless people and also to provide proper compensation to the disaster victims.
I am praying to Almighty Allah seeking the salvation for the departed souls who have been killed in this storm and also for the victim families so that they can overcome the shock of this tough time shortly.”
