Cyclone Komen is heading towards Bangladeshi coastal area; Acting Ameer urges authorities to take due steps for saving public life and property

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 30th July, 2015 expressing deep concern as the cyclone ‘Komen’ is appearing towards the coast of Bangladesh including the coast of Chittagong and Cox’sbazar.
“I am expressing deep concern as the cyclone ‘Komen’ is appearing towards the coast of Bangladesh including the coast of Chittagong and Cox’sbazar. Already Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar ports asked to maintain cautionary signal no. 7. Mongla and Payra ports to maintain cautionary danger signal no. 7. Coastal districts of Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Chandpur, Bhola, and their offshore islands and chars under danger signal no. 7. I am calling upon the coastal people to comply the declared cautionary signal and also to stay in the safe and secured area.
I am praying to Almighty Allah seeking the protection of the coastal people from this natural disaster and also asking all to offer prayer similarly.
I am urging the government particularly the disaster management ministry to undertake all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the public life and property. I am also instructing the leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami to take the side of the people living in the disaster zone.”
