Jamaat delegation meets Nepalese embassy officials in Dhaka; provides assistance for the earthquake victims

On behalf of Mr. Maqbul Ahmed, the Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, a delegation of the party led by its central working committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda, visited the Nepalese embassy in Dhaka on Monday. The delegation met the high officials of the embassy and handed over a message of condolence written by the Acting Ameer of the party, Maqbul Ahmed.
In the written message of condolence, Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami expressed deep shock and condolence over the massive casualties in the recent earthquake in Nepal and extended sympathy to the victim families and the government of Nepal. He also prayed for the quickest recovery of the injured. He further hoped that the courageous people and the government of Nepal would be able to overcome the massive damage and losses of this natural calamity shortly.
Mr. Maqbul Ahmed also stated that, the people of Bangladesh and Jamaat-e-Islami are always by the side of the struggling people of Nepal. On behalf of the Acting Ameer, Matiur Rahman Akanda donated some financial assistance for the quake affected people. The Nepalese embassy also received the assistance with deep gratitude. It should be mentioned that, following the earthquake, on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami, a 5 member medical team went to Nepal. After providing medicines and other health care items at free of cost to the victim Nepalese, recently they returned home.
