Acting Ameer calls for casting votes for the Jamaat-e-Islami and 20 party alliances backed candidates in the upcoming city polls

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 25th April, 2015 calling upon the voters to secure victories of the Jamaat-e-Islami and 20 party alliances backed candidates in the Dhaka South, Dhaka North and Chittagong City corporation elections on 28th April next.
“The mayoral and councilor elections will be held in the Dhaka South, Dhaka North and Chittagong City corporation elections on 28th April next. I am calling upon the leaders and activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and the 20 party alliances and the people of all walks to secure victory of the Jamaat and 20 party alliances backed candidates by casting votes massively in order to restore democracy, to protect public life and properties and finally to give a stern reply against all sorts of repression and torture of the government. Besides, I am urging the leaders and activists of the Jamaat-e-Islami and the 20 party alliances and the city dwellers to make a city free from terrorism and violence and also to make a pro-people city.”
