Thursday, 16 April 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 16th April, 2015 expressing deep shock and condolence over the collapse of a two-storey makeshift house in the Hazipara of Rampura of the capital on 15th April, that left at least 12 people killed and 30 injured.
“I am expressing grave shock and condolence the collapse of a two-storey makeshift house in the Hazipara of Rampura of the capital on 15th April, that left at least 12 people killed and 30 injured. Such a pathetic accident took place as the establishment had been unlawfully violating the rules. Such illegal construction of the slum must be stopped. We hope and believe that the concerned authorities of the government must conduct a proper investigation into the incident to ensure punitive measures against the personnel who are responsible for this accident.
I am calling upon the government to provide sufficient compensation to the families of the deceased victims and also to take due steps for ensuring proper treatment of the injured peoples.
I am praying to Almighty Allah seeking salvation for the departed souls and also praying for the victim families so that they can overcome the shock of these irreparable losses.
