Acting Ameer condemns re-arrest of Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and the unlawful arrest of Rangpur divisional labor leader
Sunday, 14 June 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 14th June, 2015 protesting and condemning the re-arrest of Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and former MP Maulana Abdul Khaleq and the unlawful arrest of the Rangpur divisional President of Sramik Kollan Federation and local Jamaat leader Professor Abul Hashem Badal on 13th June.
“The authorities re-arrested of Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and former MP Maulana Abdul Khaleq and  similarly police also unlawfully arrested the Rangpur divisional President of Sramik Kollan Federation and local Jamaat leader Professor Abul Hashem Badal on 13th June and arrested the Baufol Upazila Jamaat Ameer under Patuakhali district Maulana Ishaq Mia today. Police have arrested them just to harass them politically. I am protesting and condemning the government’s repression as their ill efforts to keep them behind the bar.
Though Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and former MP Maulana Abdul Khaleq has been enlarged on bail, so he was supposed to get released. But by re-arresting him from the jail gate, the authority has made an inhuman repression against this aged man. His family and relatives expected that he would be freed and would be able to observe fasting in the upcoming holy month of Ramadan in a free atmosphere, but by detaining him, the government had committed an inhuman offence against him.
Police has unlawfully arrested Rangpur divisional President of Sramik Kollan Federation and local Jamaat leader Professor Abul Hashem Badal. These incidents of arrest and re-arrest are the exposure of the fascist approaches of the government.
I am calling upon the authorities concerned to release all the detained leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatrashibir including Satkhira district Jamaat Ameer and former MP Maulana Abdul Khaleq and Rangpur divisional President of Sramik Kollan Federation and local Jamaat leader Professor Abul Hashem Badal immediately.”
