Acting Ameer condoles over the death of Khulna district Jamaat leader in custody
Tuesday, 26 May 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following message of condolence on 26th May, 2015 expressing deep shock and condolence over the death of Khulna district’s Koira Upazila’s Amadi Union branch Jamaat Ameer and party’s member Maulana Ghulam Rahman.
“Khulna district’s Koira Upazila’s Amadi Union branch Jamaat Ameer and party’s member Maulana Ghulam Rahman has died in a hospital of Khulna while he was under custody. (Innalillahi Wa inna Ilaihi Rajiun). I am expressing deep shock at his death. His family and well wishers think, he became sick inside the prison for poor treatment, substandard food and lack of drinking water and finally he died for not getting due treatment. I am asking the concerned authorities to investigate into the fact that has he died for the negligence and reluctance of the prison authority and sluggish initiatives of the authority to admit him into a hospital.
Maulana Ghulam Rahman was a dedicated person for the Islamic death. He has been detained for his active involvement with the Islamic movement. He has become the worst victim of government’s repression and torture. May Allah accept all his noble deeds to bless him with Jannah.
I am praying to Almighty Allah for accepting all his noble deeds and also for the family so that they can overcome the shock of this irreparable loss.”
