Sunday, 05 April 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 5th April, 2015 expressing deep concern over the death of 30 people and massive devastation of housing establishments and crops as nor’wester lashed different areas of the country on last 4th and 5th April.
“More than 30 peoples have been killed and huge amount of crops have been devastated as nor’wester lashed different areas of the country on last 4th and 5th April. The storm also destroyed many houses and other establishments. I am expressing deep condolence for the people who have been killed in these natural calamities. It has become a common scenario in our country that peoples and properties are smashed due to such nor’wester and other storms. If the met office of the government could forecast about the storm hours before it would cause a least harm. I am urging the concerned authorities and sections to be more conscious more in this regard in the days to come.
I am calling upon the government to send relief and other rehabilitation materials to nor’wester affected area immediately.
I am praying for the departed souls who have been killed in these natural disasters and also expressing my deep sympathy and condolences to the victim families.”
