Acting Ameer demands immediate release of the political detainees; calls the government to end suppression
Tuesday, 27 January 2015
Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maqbul Ahmed has issued the following statement on 27th January, 2015 protesting and condemning the unlawful arrest of Gazipur district Jamaat Ameer Abul Hashem Khan, Rajshahi east organizational district Nayeb-e-Ameer and Charghat Upazila vice chairman Nazmul Haque, Gazipur city Jamaat’s Finance Affairs secretary Mohammad Nosrullah and Organizational Secretary Afzal Hossain.
“I am severely protesting and condemning condemning the unlawful arrest of Gazipur district Jamaat Ameer Abul Hashem Khan, Rajshahi east organizational district Nayeb-e-Ameer and Charghat Upazila vice chairman Nazmul Haque, Gazipur city Jamaat’s Finance Affairs secretary Mohammad Nosrullah and Organizational Secretary Afzal Hossain. The government has arrested them only to harass them politically. By conducting such indiscriminate arrest, the government once again exposed its fascist attitude. Such mass arrest cannot subdue the movement of the people. All conspiracies of the fascist government would be foiled by the widespread movement of the countrymen.
I am urging the government to stop their suppression, mass arrest and torture and to release all the detained leaders and activists of 20 party alliances including Gazipur district Jamaat Ameer Abul Hashem Khan, Rajshahi east organizational district Nayeb-e-Ameer and Charghat Upazila vice chairman Nazmul Haque, Gazipur city Jamaat’s Finance Affairs secretary Mohammad Nosrullah and Organizational Secretary Afzal Hossain immediately.”
