The International Crimes Tribunal-1 on Thursday received the health report of Jamaat Ameer Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami. The tribunal registrar AKM Nasiruddin Mahmud said he received the report from the Dhaka Central Jail authorities this afternoon and has already produced it to the ICT-1.
He said the jail authorities in the letter, informed the tribunal that Maulana Nizami’s health condition has already improved. Tribunal registrar also said they would submit a further report on Maulana Nizami’s health when his condition would become stable.
Earlier on Tuesday, the ICT-1 postponed delivery of its verdict in the war crimes case against Maulana Nizami as he had fallen ‘sick’ and could not be brought to the court. Indicted on May 28, 2012, the trial of Nizami, 70, on 16 counts of war crimes was completed twice since November 2013.
