Saturday, 03 March 2012
The family members of detained former Jamaat Ameer Ghulam Azam claimed that his condition deteriorated and he is kept pushing saline. Brigadier General (retd) Abdullahil Aman Azmi, son of Ghulam Azam, came up with the claim Saturday to the journalists after paying a visit to him at hospital prison cell along with his mother Afisa Azam. Azmi said the menu problem of my father’s meal still is not solved despite making repeated pleas. Dr Maniruzzaman, nephew of Ghulam Azam, who is a British citizen and now a university teacher in Malaysia, came to Bangladesh after 34 years to meet him, but the jail authorities did not allow him. Earlier on January 28, Ghulam Azam’s wife Syeda Afifa Azam expressed concern over her husband’s life bringing allegation of irregularity with the prison cell of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) where he was kept.
