Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 18 August 2020 expressing deep condolence as Eight people were killed and five others injured when a microbus fell into a roadside pond in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh this morning.

The accident took place in Bashati area around 7:45am when the microbus was going to Nalitabari upazila of Sherpur from Mymensingh's Bhaluka upazila for attending the funeral of a relative. 8 people have been killed including an infant and 5 women. 4 more are in critical condition.

We are expressing deep condolence for the deceased who have been killed in this tragic accident and simultaneously extending sympathy to his mournful families.

May Allah forgive all the deceased and bless them with Jannah. Besides, I am praying for the quick recovery of the injured victims.
