Noted businessman Latifur Rahman dies; Dr. Taher condoles

Nayeb-e-Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former lawmaker Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher has issued the following message of condolence on 1 July 2020 expressing deep shock at the death of eminent businessman and industrialist Latifur Rahman.

Noted businessman, industrialist and Transcom Group’s founder Chairman Latifur Rahman passed away in his sleep at 11 am this morning in his paternal home in Cumilla. I am expressing deep shock at his death and extending sympathy to his mournful family.

In personal life, Latifur Rahman was an honest, sincere and pro-people businessman. He has helped the poor and impoverished communities from his own capacities. He is the founder of country’s top dailies, Prothom Alo and the Daily Star. He also set some remarkable example in promoting business ethics and CSR responsibilities.

May Allah accept his noble deeds. May Allah forgive his mistakes and sins and bless with Jannah.
