Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 26 June 2020 expressing deep shock and condolence at the death of former Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Syed Munawar Hassan.

Syed Munawar Hassan has served as Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan from 2009 to 2014. As a member of the Pakistan National Assembly, he played significant role for the development of the country. He has some outstanding contributions for the Islamic movement across the globe. Syed Munawar has been suffering from some critical diseases for years. Finally, he died today while undergoing treatment in a hospital of Karachi. I am saddened at his death. May Allah accept all his noble services and bless him with Jannah.

I am extending my profound sympathy to his mournful family and other fellow associates and colleagues and praying to Allah so that they can hold patience in this painful period.
