Central Publicity Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 10th January, 2017 gainsaying the confusing and false report of Daily Inqilab titled ‘ছন্নছাড়া জামায়াত’ (Scattered Jamaat).

“The report published in Daily Inqilab is politically motivated. Responding to this confusing report of Daily Inqilab, I want to assert that Jamaat-e-Islami has become the worst victim of government’s repression. Jamaat is still functioning tackling the severe torture and oppression of the government. Jamaat-e-Islami is conducting its activities as per the party’s constitution. No question is raised at all about the alleged feud between the party leaderships. The report claimed that many of the grassroots level workers are joining in other parties, which is not true in anyway.

Jamaat-e-Islami is functioning with the money and sponsorship of the party’s leaders, activists, supporters and well-wishers. Jamaat’s advancement is continuing and the party’s popularity is growing despite the obstructions and shortcomings. The claim of Jamaat’s weaker position within the alliance is still irrelevant.

I am urging the authority of Daily Inqilab to be refrained from publishing such false and confusing report against Jamaat-e-Islami.”
