Matiur Rahman Akanda protests the false news of Daily Janakantha against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and party’s central executive committee member Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued the following statement on 10 September 2021 protesting and gainsaying the report titled ‘তালেবান, আল-কায়েদা ও আইএসআইর সঙ্গে জামায়াত কানেকশন’ (Jamaat’s connection with Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISI) published in the last page of Bengali Daily Janakantha today.

“On 10th September, a report titled ‘তালেবান, আল-কায়েদা ও আইএসআইর সঙ্গে জামায়াত কানেকশন’ (Jamaat’s connection with Taliban, Al Qaeda and ISI) published in the last page of Bengali Daily Janakantha. The report stated some information about Jamaat-e-Islami and Jamaat leaders which are totally concocted, false and fictitious. The report claimed Jamaat’s secret connection with some organizations. It also stated that Jamaat is engaged with the conspiracy to dethrone the government. All these are nothing but a manipulated fiction of the concerned reporter. The report also said that, with the reestablishment of Taliban in Afghanistan, some Bangladeshi militants are trying to migrate in Afghanistan via Pakistan and India and Jamaat has been patronizing the issue. But actually, Jamaat has no involvement or knowledge about the reported issue. It has become a conventional bad habit of Daily Janakantha to make series propaganda against Jamaat-e-Islami defying the rules and regulations of press media. I am severely condemning this false, concocted and intentional report.

I am urging the authorities of Daily Janakantha to be refrained from publishing such false report against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.
