Khulna mill labors are suffering for not getting due payments; Secretary General demands immediate actions

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 3 September 2020 urging the authority to accept Khulna’s Shiromoni region’s Mohsen Jute Mill’s labor’s demands.

347 labors and 50 staffs of Khulna’s Shiromoni region’s Mohsen Jute Mill have a due of 10 crores 60 lac 78 thousand 474 taka. The mill is closed for last 7 years. A meeting held on 26th July at the DC office decided to pay all the dues before the Holy Eid-ul-Azha. But the decisions have not been implemented yet. The labors of the factory have been conducting movement in order to get their dues and also for the resumption of the mill. The general masses are already passing days in deep troubles due to prevailing crises. These labors are suffering the worst as their mills are closed and they did not get their due payments yet.

I am urging the concerned authorities to accept the demands of the labors and to pay their all dues immediately.
