Jamaat Ameer recalls the contribution of Mir Quasem Ali; urges authority to return his missing son back to the family

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following statement on 2 September 2020 recalling the contribution of Jamaat’s Central Executive Committee’s former member, noted entrepreneur, social worker and media personality Mir Quasem Ali.

Mir Quasem Ali has worked throughout his life to establish a public welfare based Islamic society. He was the founding central president of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir. He has played key role in establishing several Islami Banks, Insurance, mosques, Madrasa and other Islamic and welfare institution across the country. He took outstanding steps to reach the medical care to the doorsteps of the general masses. The people of the country will remember him always.

He has been sentenced to death in connection with the case of crimes against humanity just because of his involvement with the Islamic movement. The prosecution failed to prove any charge against him. He had no nexus with the allegations brought against him. He has been made deprived from justice unlawfully. He has been executed on 3rd September night of the year 2016.

He has left many welfare activities which will continue to function in so many years to come. He will live through such activities. We pray to Allah for the acceptance of martyrdom and his noble place in Jannah.

We want to add regretfully that, some people, claiming themselves as the law enforcers have abducted his son Barrister Ahmad Bin Quasem Arman from his house on 9 August of 2016. Still he is not returned. His innocent kids are looking for their father and waiting for his return. Barrister Arman was serving his father as a defence lawyer. Mir Quasem’s family has become the victim of political vengeance. May Allah bless this family with patience.

We are calling upon the leaders and activists of our beloved organization and the countrymen to come forward to accomplish the unfinished tasks of Mir Quasem Ali.
