Tasnim Alam rejects fictitious report of Daily Manabzamin against Jamaat-e-Islami

Central Publicity Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Professor Md. Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 3 December 2019 protesting and denouncing the report of Bengali daily “Manabzamin’ titled “আমীরকে ঘিরে জামায়াতে দ্বন্দ্ব” (Faction within Jamaat-e-Islami centering the Ameer). The information, stated in the report is not authentic.

The Daily Manabzamin published this baseless report in order to carry propaganda Jamaat’s newly elected Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and other senior leaders. They have made an attempt to humiliate Jamaat’s leadership. Such a role from a daily like Manabzamin is really unfortunate.

Responding to this report, I want to assert that, the reported faction within Jamaat-e-Islami is nothing but a concocted fiction of the concerned reporter. The newly elected Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman will appoint next secretary general according to the party’s constitution. So, there is no chance of creating any group in this regard. Nobody is dissatisfied about the Newly elected Ameer. The report claimed that the newly elected Ameer is not interested to hand over duty to party’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan. It is also a fictitious claim. The report further stated that newly elected Ameer bagged maximum votes of the women members which is not true as well. In the ballot papers, there was no way to identify members from gender perspective.

The report also said that, the newly elected Ameer has a good intimacy with a central leader of Awami League. It added that, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has a connection with the policymakers of the government. Both of this information is far away from truth. The reported number of Jamaat members are not genuine too. This report is entirely concocted, manipulated and fictitious.

I am urging the authorities of daily Manabzamin to be refrained from publishing such baseless report against Jamaat-e-Islami. I am also expecting that they would publish this rejoinder properly to lessen the public confusion.
