Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 8th November, 2017 protesting and condemning the unjustifiable arrest of 14 leaders and activists of Khulna district wing of Jamaat-e-Islami including Khulna North organizational district’s Assistant Secretary Mia Ghulam Quddus, district’s Dumuria Upazila Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Shafiqul Islam, Secretary Maulana Ishaq on last 7th November.

“These arrestees have become the victim of government’s ill political vengeance. Police unreasonably arrested these 14 leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami.

The government has arrested and imprisoned leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami in different levels particularly the top hierarchy of the organization. The government has been detached already from the peoples for its anti-national activities. They are trying to stay in power forcefully without the process of free and fair election. I am urging the countrymen to raise voice against such conspiracy of the government.

I am calling upon the concerned authorities to release all the detained members and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami including Mia Ghulam Quddus immediately.”
