A meeting of the central executive committee of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami was held with party’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman in the chair. The meeting discussed the latest political situation, economic conditions, and different national and international issues.

After the discussion, central executive committee has undertaken the following proposals:

Central executive committee observing the authority has imprisoned Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana Delawar Hossain Sayedee for last 12 years, Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam for 11 years, former MP Principal Abdul Khaleque Mondol is for 7 years. Besides, Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan and central Majlish-e-Shura member Shahjahan Chowdhury have been kept behind the bar for long days in connection with some false political cases.

Maulana Delawar Hossain Sayedee was produced before a special court, which is set up in the Alia Madrasa ground on 25th May in connection with a false case. On his way to the court from Kashimpur prison, he came severely sick physically. He vomited multiple times. Even he became fainted for once. By harassing him in such a way, indirectly he is being pushed towards death. Whilst, Professor Mia Golam Porwar had secured bail in all cases from the High Court but however, he was shown arrested in two other cases on 12th February 2022. He also got released in those cases. Despite such granted bail, he is being imprisoned illegally. The government has tortured him massively by keeping him in the prison defying the court order, while on the other hand, they showed disrespect and disloyalty towards the judicial system.

The Central executive committee also observes that there is no rule of law, justice, and human rights in the country. The government does not care about the law, the constitution, and other issues. The committee urges the government to release Maulana Delawar Hossain Sayedee, ATM Azharul Islam, Principal Abdul Khaleque Mondol, Maulana ANM Shamsul Islam, Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, and Shahjahan Chowdhury and other detainees of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir immediately and unconditionally.
