Secretary General distributes reliefs among the cyclone Yaas victims in Koyra Upazila of Khulna district

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former member of the Parliament Professor Mia Golam Porwar has distributed cash and food reliefs among the victims of cyclone Yaas and river erosion in Doshhalia of Koyra Upazila under Khulna district.

At that time, he said, the people of the coastal areas have lost their houses, properties and various establishments during the cyclone Yaas which took place on last 26th May. Such a huge loss would not be fulfilled. We will not be able to meet it up. But we will try to remain by your side as much as we can. Due to natural calamities, the lives of the residents of Koyra, Paikgacha, Dakop and Dumuria under Khulna district have become miserable. But so far, we are not observing necessary relief activities from the government level. I am urging the government to enhance the relief activities. Besides, the solvent quarters of the country should come forward to help these impoverished people.

Professor Mia Golam Porwar has said, Jamaat-e-Islami always try to take the side of the people in crises. Jamaat will continue this effort until a just society is established in the country. It is the obligation of the government to ensure rule of law and to protect lives and properties of the people. It is their duty to maintain law and order and also to tackle natural disasters. But the government fails to meet those basic demands. Under the circumstances, Jamaat-e-Islami will try sincerely to stay by the side of the victims.

Among others, central working committee member and Khulna city Jamaat Ameer Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Khulna south organizational district Ameer Maulana Golam Sorwar, Secretary Mostafizur Rahman, Koyra Upazila Jamaat Ameer Maulana Mizanur Rahman, Secretary Maulana Saifullah and local Jamaat and Chhatrashibir leaders were present on the occasion.
