Maulana Masum visits victim families of recent speedboat accident; provides assistances

A Banglabazar ferry ghat bound speedboat taking 30 passengers from Shimulia ghat of Munshiganjoverturned after hitting a sand-laden bulkhead anchored in Padma near Kathalbari ferry ghat in Madaripur's Shibcharupazila. 26 people were killed in this accident and several others became injured.

Among the deceased, there were two victims from Maitharkandi village under DaudkandiUpazila of Comilla district namely Saiful and Ruhul Amin and one Ziaur Rahman from TitashUpazila. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum visited the victim families. Jamaat leader consoled the victims and provided them some financial assistances.

Maulana Masum also addressed at a brief gathering over there. In his address, he said, I am praying for all the victims who had been killed in the tragic mishap of 3rd May. May Allah accept them as martyrs. The victim families can never fulfill the vacuum which has been created due to this tragic event. Only Allah can soothe their mind. He also offered prayer seeking salvation of the deceased and patience for their families.

Among others, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Comilla North organizational district Ameer Professor Maulana Ali Ashraf Khan, district financial affairs secretary Abdul Bari, Daudkandi west and east Upazila Jamaat Ameer Khondoker Abul Bashar and MoniruzzamanBahlul, TitashUpazila Jamaat Ameer Shamim Sarkar Biggo and other local leaders were present on the occasion. An emotional environment was created at that time.
