Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central Publicity Secretary Professor Md Tasnim Alam has issued the following statement on 14th July, 2017 protesting and gainsaying the confusing and contradictory information published in a report today in Bengali daily ‘Amader Shomoy’ titled ‘জামায়াত নিয়ন্ত্রণে চার নেতা’  (Jamaat under the control of 4 leaders). 

“Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is an Islamic and democratic organization. Jamaat-e-Islami is being functioned as per its party constitution. The concerned reporter of Daily Amader Shomoy has refereed about some internal feud within Jamaat-e-Islami is completely false, confusing and untrue.

The reporter mentioned about a syndicate of the 4 Jamaat leaders. Such a claim is not only false but also intentional. Jamaat is not operated through any syndicate. Jamaat operates its activities according to its party constitution and historical tradition. The reporter, at one point of his report claimed that, Jamaat Ameer and Secretary General are not able to interfere beyond this syndicate. His claim is totally concocted and manipulated. According to the party constitution, Jamaat Ameer holds the supreme power within the party structure. He maintains the organization consulting with the members of the central executive committee. There is nothing called ‘blind loyalty’ within Jamaat-e-Islami. Each and every designated leader of the party tries his level best to discharge his duty properly. In this party, post or designation is not very significant. These words have been used in the report just to create more and more confusion.

‘Jamaat has no separate workforce and Jamaat is fully dependent on Chhatrashibir’ such a claim is also untrue. Jamaat belongs to the mass peoples of this country. The strength of Jamaat has been proved substantially several times as the Jamaat nominated candidates secured massive victory in all the local and national elections.

‘Qualified and talented peoples are not getting proper recognition in Jamaat-e-Islami’ such a claim is also a sheer lie. The party follows the same strategy for electing leaders, which are applied in the Islamic movement. Grassroots levels workers and leaders have their all out involvement in the party’s leadership election procedures.

The report also mentioned some confusing reports about Islami Chhatrashibir as well. Islami Chhatrashibir is not a front organization of Jamaat-e-Islami. Chhatrashibir also functions and operates as per its organizational strategies. The central president of Islami Chhatrashibir is elected with direct votes of the members of the organization. So there is no chance of making interference in this process by Jamaat-e-Islami.

This report has been made and published in order to create confusion and misunderstanding. I am vehemently protesting and condemning such false reporting.”
