Veteran religious scholar Allama Shafi dies; Jamaat Ameer condoles

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has issued the following message of condolence on 18 September 2020 at the death of director general of Al Jameyatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam Madrasa, popularly known as Hathazari madrasa, Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh and President of Befakul Madarasil Arabia Bangladesh Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi.

He was taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) as his physical condition deteriorated yesterday. He was put on life support at CMCH and was later flown to Dhaka today, and was admitted at Asgar Ali Hospital where he passed away this evening. Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Rajiun.

Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi was a genuine guide of country’s religious community and Islam loving people. The news of his death has brough extreme level of sorrows among the general masses. He worked throughout his life for serving Islam. He has played outstanding roles for the expansion of Islamic education nationwide. He also worked hard to fulfill the justifiable demands of the Madrasa students. Allama Shafi was the mentor and teacher of many religious scholars. The people will remember him for his great dedication and devotion for pursuing religious knowledge. The nation lost a great religious maestro at his demise. Such vacuum will not be filled easily. 

May Allah bless him with Jannah. I am extending deep sympathy to his mournful family members, relatives and fellows.
