A delegation of Turkey-based International Jurist Union met Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the central office of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on December 10 morning. The delegation included Dr. Rafiq Korkusuz, Kamal Keya, Mehsuret Akinli, Hosni Yazdan, Hanna Ekbulat, and Rasim Aytin. The delegation of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami included Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman and Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General Moazzam Hossain Helal, and Central Executive Council Member and party's media Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda.

Barrister Abu Bakr Mollah and Barrister Nazib Momen were also present during the meeting.

The meeting was held in a very cordial atmosphere. There was an open discussion about the rule of law and justice in Bangladesh and both sides expressed hope that the trial process of the International Criminal Tribunal will be conducted transparently and in accordance with international standards.
