No one should be allowed to infiltrate and destroy our national unity, says Dr. Shafiqul Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We would like to remember those who participated in the movement of 2024 and put their lives into severe risks. We are grateful to them. Our children laid down their lives in front of bullets for a society without discrimination. We also want to build such a country. We want to build a Bangladesh where there is no division between caste, party, and religion, and all people enjoy their legitimate rights. Please give my regards to your family and loved ones. I pray that the lives of my brother Abdullah and others who have sacrificed their lives be accepted as martyrs. May peace be bestowed upon the people of Bangladesh through their sacrifices.

He said in roadside meeting in Chowgacha that, “we want to establish such a society where the workers will enjoy their rights. The farmers will get their rightful share. They will receive fair prices for their crops. Those working in offices, courts, and judicial departments will fear Allah regarding public trust. There will be no bribery or corruption in the offices and courts, Insha Allah."

Earlier, Dr. Shafiqul Rahman was received at the Jessore Airport with flowers by a group of leaders and workers from Jessore, led by Professor Golam Rasul, the Ameer of Jessore District. At that time, central executive council member of Jamaat-e-Islami Mubarak Hossain was also present with the Jamaat Ameer. After disembarking from the plane, the Jamaat Ameer entered the car. He headed towards the city while acknowledging the greetings of the leaders and workers. On the way, he addressed the first roadside meeting at Chachra Check post Square, the junction of the four districts of Jessore, Khulna, Satkhira, and Jhenaidah, which were central to the movement for the downfall of the autocratic regime of Hasina. He stated that this was the first time a leader of a major political party like the Jamaat Ameer was arriving at this intersection in the newly liberated Bangladesh.

Dr. Shafiqul Rahman also mentioned, "In the war of 2024, children were martyred. The elderly have embraced martyrdom. We fought side by side with them. We must maintain our national unity. No one should be able to infiltrate and destroy this unity. Therefore, all students, people of Bangladesh, must stay alert.

He further stated, "Those who spread the branches of fascism, those who wreaked havoc for 15 consecutive years, those who carried out murders and abductions, and those who plundered the country's resources and smuggled them abroad, we will not forgive them. Each one of them will be brought to justice."

The Jamaat Ameer said, "Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is an oppressed party. The top leaders of this party have been killed under the guise of justice. Maulana Delawar Hossain Sayeedee Rahimahullah was killed. Public leader, Ghulam Azam Rahimahullah, was killed. Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami was killed. Jamaat's Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid was killed. Abdul Qader Mollah was killed, and Kamruzzaman was killed."

They were imprisoned all over Bangladesh. We were not allowed to enter our legitimate offices. Our party was ultimately banned. But Allah’s decision was different. Those who wanted to permanently eradicate the Islamic organization like Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir from the land of Bangladesh, Almighty Allah has now banned them.

He further said, we had told our workers not to rejoice, not to raise their hands against anyone. They adhered to our instructions. Our colleagues have been severely persecuted. There is much sorrow in our hearts.

He said, "Jessore is a region of tradition, struggle, and resistance. It is a land of long-standing struggle. From here, for the first time, Major M.A. Jalil, the commander of the 9th division sector, led the first movement against the plunderers. Therefore, we consider Jessore as an area of exceptional importance."

The second roadside meeting took place at Jikergacha Market on the Jessore Benapole Highway. Finally, he addressed the crowd at the Nabarun Square in Sharsha Upazila. After the meetings, he left for Satkhira that night.
