Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement on 26th November, condemning and protesting against the brutal murder of Saiful Islam Alif, a young lawyer, and APP of the Chittagong Judge's Court, on November 26 afternoon in port city of Chittagong.

"The brutal murder that took place on November 26 in the city of Chittagong is a very heinous and condemnable crime. A group is continuously carrying out ill-attempts to destabilize Bangladesh by taking the side of the fallen dictatorship. They want to destabilize Bangladesh through provocative activities. The patriotic people are fully aware of their ill-will and are united. Just as their evil attempts had failed in the past, they will also fail in the future, insha Allah.

He further said, "I am deeply saddened by the murder of my fellow colleague, and young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, APP of Chittagong Judge Court. I pray to the Almighty Allah seeking forgiveness of the deceased's soul. May Allah accept him as a guest of Paradise and grant him the highest status of martyrdom. I express my deep condolences to his bereaved family, relatives, loved ones and colleagues.

He said, "His sacrifice for the country will be remembered. I sincerely appeal to my party colleagues, students and patriotic people to exercise utmost patience in any provocation. May Allah Almighty help us."

He further said, "I call on the concerned authorities to take strict legal action against those involved in this brutal murder."
