October 28, 2006 is one of the worst days of crimes against humanity in the history of the world

-Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "October 28 is one of the worst organized crimes against humanity in the history of the world. On this day in 2006, at the pre-announced rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami at the North Gate of Baitul Mukarram, the terrorists of Awami League, including Chhatra League and Jubo League under the direct orders of Sheikh Hasina beat people to death like snakes with sticks, logi, boitha and other weapons. Humanity died that day. He demanded justice for all those who were killed from October 28, 2006 to August 5, 2024.

He said these things in his speech as the chief guest in a discussion meeting to protest the logi-boitha rampage of Awami fascists. Dhaka South City organized the program at the Engineers Institution (Ramana) in the capital on Monday (October 28) morning. Jamaat’s Central Executive Council member and Ameer of Dhaka City South Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which was hosted by city Secretary and Jamaat’s central working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman and Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar, Assistant Secretary General respectively - Maulana ATM Masum, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, Maulana Abdul Halim and Advocate Ehsanul Mahboob Zubair, Central Publicity and Media Secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda, and Central Executive Council Members Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Md. Abdur Rab, Dhaka North city Ameer Muhammad Selim Uddin were present in the program as the special guests.

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Quader, Bangladesh Khilafat Movement Secretary General Mufti Fakhruddin, Bangladesh Labor Party Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, Nagorik Songhoti Parishad’s convenor Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gono Odhikar Parishad Secretary Rashed Khan, Hefazt-e-Islami’s founder Nayeb-e-Ameer Mufti Ezharul Islam Chowdhury and other national leaders also spoke on the occasion. Members of the martyr's families of 28th October were present in the program as well.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The crimes committed by Awami League has been proved by their escape. Now Awami have to face the trial process. This interim government may not be able to finish their trial. But they have to start. Awami League has judicially killed the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami by framing fictitious charges. They have fought against the nation in the movement of students. The entire nation was on one side and the Awami League and its 14 party alliances was on the opposite side of the people. Awami League does not believe in democracy or voting. They believe in grabbing power with the help of foreigners.”

Professor Mia Golam Porwar said, "Sheikh Mujibur Rahman established a one-party system of governance in Bangladesh from 1972 to 1975. He established a dictatorship, murdered, disappeared, and made a history of vote robbery." People were disoriented by the oppression during his rule. Sheikh Hasina apologized to the nation in 1996, repented, begged for another chance in the political arena and came to the mercy of the people in the political arena. After coming, Sheikh Hasina again started a conspiracy against the country and the people. From October 28, 2006 to August 5, 2024, Bangladesh was turned into a prison with the help of India.”

BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas said, "Earlier our demand was, we want a Bangladesh free from Sheikh Hasina and now our demand is we want a Awami League free Bangladesh. Awami League's spies and affiliates remain at various levels of the administrations including police, RAB, and army. Awami League's collaborators are breeding new theories every day from the administration." He demanded the release of Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General ATM Azharul Islam immediately.
