Jamaat Ameer holds exchange meeting with the victim families of the anti-discrimination movement in Gazipur

We will not Let the nation be divided once again, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "We will not give anyone an opportunity to divide this nation. The quarters who had divided the nation based on party affiliation, religion or clan, are the enemies of the nation. Let us learn by exploring the past. We don't want to see terrorists who, while in power, will dare to fire bullets against the people from such weapons which had been procured with the money of the same people. The entire Bangladesh should be united in this regard.

He said this while addressing a view exchange meeting as the chief guest with the victim families of the anti-discrimination student-public movement. Gazipur city Jamaat organized the program at the historic Rajbari ground of the city on October 4.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, "The vested quarters who are mulling to destroy the RMG industry are enemies to the nation. They abuse the passions of the workers to take them to the streets. Of course, some owners want to exploit the workers, which is unfair. However, for the greater interest, we have to save this industry. We want such an industry without discrimination. We want a society where the government is obliged to give every child born four basic rights, i.e. food, shelter, health, and good education.

He said, “Opportunists in our country create conflict between employers and workers. If there are no entrepreneurs and owners, where will the workers work? If the industry does not survive, where will the employment be? We want businessmen to do business in his place, no rogue will dare to ask him for extortion. There will be ease in the market, and bearable commodity prices so that every man can live comfortably according to his means.

He also said, "This country has repeatedly cried out for freedom in exchange for blood. After 1947, 1971 and again in 2024. We don't even know if any nation has shed so much blood for their own independent rights. Men and women even a half month old child had fought equally for securing justices. He said, we will inform the world that from now on people of Bangladesh will treat black as black and white as white. We want a country where there is no discrimination.”

Addressing the families of the martyrs, he said, “Those who have been martyred did not fight for getting jobs or for anyone's help. They are our pride, our heroes. They fought selflessly to honor the nation. It is the duty of the nation now to honor their families. It has to be done and there is no alternative. I will demand the government to give them proper recognition. At least one person from every martyr's family should be provided job by the government. Those who are injured and crippled in this movement should also be given jobs with due honor.

In his speech, the chief guest said, "We need such a society that educated people will not loot thousands of crores of taka by putting a simple signature. We don't want to see a sworn politician to become a court judge. A public official is a servant of the state, and he should not belong to any party, group or individual. We all are looking for such a country. We have to build that country, insha Allah we will do it.

He said, "For 15 and a half years, Jamaat-e-Islami has become the worst victims of torture and repression. Judicial killings have been committed against our leaders. Those who have been killed, we want to see those killers brought to justice in this world. The murderers, planners, masterminds, executioners, those who gave perverse verdicts in the court, or gave false witnesses, those who staged drama in the name of investigation should not be spared. They also killed 57 brave patriotic army officers during the BDR carnage within just two months after coming to power. BDR forces have been decimated. We want the release of all the innocent people who are in jail.

Gazipur city Ameer Professor Muhammad Jamal Uddin presided over the meeting. Central Executive Council Member Principal Muhammad Izzat Ullah was the special guest in the program. Among others, Jamaat’s central working council member Khalilur Rahman, Dhaka North Region’s team member Abul Hasem Khan, Maulana Delawar Hossain, Gazipur district Ameer Dr. Jahangir Alam, Gazipur city Nayeb-e-Ameer Muhammad Khairul Hasan, Secretary Abu Saeed Muhammad Farooq, former central president of Islami Chhatrashibir also addressed in the program.
