Bangladesh Jamaat's Iftar Party | Diplomats express their support for inclusive Democracy

Acting Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Maqbul Ahmad hosted an Iftar Party in honour of foreign diplomats in Bangladesh at Hotel Westin on 2nd July, 2014.

A good number of foreign diplomats including Palestinian Ambassador and Dean of Diplomatic Core Shaher Muhammad, US Ambassador Dan W. Mozena, Saudi Ambassador D. Abdullah Bin Nassar Al- Bushairi, Turkish Ambassador Hoseyin Muftuoglu, Egyptian Ambassador Muhammad Izzat, Ambassador of Norway Ms. Maridi Landimo, Deputy British High Commissioner Mr. Nick Low, Deputy High Commissioner of Australia Dr. Lucinda Bell, US Deputy Chief of Mission Jon F. Danilowicz, Deputy Head of Mission of Qatar Khalid Zaid S. Al-Mahmoud, Deputy Chief of Mission of Canada Daniel Lutfi, Pakistan, Indonesia, Iran, Oman, Libya, Brunai, Russia, Japan, India, Vietnam, South Korea attended the Iftar Party.

Among the Jamaat Leaders Deputy Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Prof. Mujibur Rahman, Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarker, Acting Central Publicity Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda, City Working Committee Member Mobarak Hossain were present on the occasion.

Prior to the Iftar Deputy Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Prof. Mujibur Rahman delivered his brief speech before the honorable dignitaries.

At the outset of his brief address, he extended his heartiest thanks to the foreign diplomats for their kind response to the invitation of Jamaat-e-Islami. “Their kind presence has greatly graced this occasion,” he said.

Lamenting for depriving the top Jamaat leaders from being present in this Iftar Party he said, “It is really painful that the top leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami including our Ameer Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami are kept behind the bar. They have fallen prey to nasty political victimization. Our hearts bleed. This evening we miss our leaders very much.”

Eulogizing the strong role of the international community and human rights organizations with regard to the ongoing trial of the detained top Jamaat leaders in the name of the so-called crimes against humanity Prof. Mujibur Rahman thanked and expressed gratitude to them for their eloquently voice against the ongoing war crimes trial, which are being conducted in violation of the international norms, implicating our innocent and respectable leaders with the above false and baseless charge.

Terming Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami the largest Islamic political party of Bangladesh he said, the party sincerely believes in democracy. As a peace loving political party, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami never believes in terrorism and vehemently condemns all types of terrorist activities.
Alluding to the month of Ramadan as the month of the revelation of the holy Quran, the Jamaat leader asserted, “The Holy Quran has been revealed to ensure welfare and peace of the mankind.”

Quoting from the holy Quran, Sura Al-Hujrat, verse 13, he said, Allah has declared regarding the humanity: “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.”

“If we really can follow the aforesaid spirit of the holy Quran, our life will be peaceful; we will experience welfare and the ultimate peace and tranquility, he also said. “In this holy month of Ramadan, we supplicate before the Lord of the Universe for enabling us to

play a responsible and sensible role for the promotion of the cause of the social cohesion, national integration, universal brotherhood and global peace, he added.

On the eve of the Iftar Mahfil Prof. Mujibur Rahman conducted a munajat praying to Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of the humanity particularly Bangladesh as well as the Muslim Ummah.
