Political instability and anarchy are destroying the entire social system, says Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that around 40 million people of 12 districts have been affected severely by the recent flood. So, we could not enjoy the festivity of Eid-ul-Azha properly this time.

During this critical condition, Jamaat-e-Islami has rushed to the people with its highest capacity. On this Eid, Almighty Allah gave us the opportunity to sacrifice animals. But along with this apparent sacrifice, we have to sacrifice the negativities from our mind as well. Through the sacrificing incident of Prophet Ibrahim (A), we came to know the true identity of the Muslims. Bangladesh is crossing a severe situation now. Political instability and anarchies have been destroying the social structure and all relevant systems. Many parents are passing days with tear in their eyes. Their sons became the victim of enforced disappearance, or have been killed in the name of crossfire. People are being harassed with lots of false and fabricated cases. Jamaat leaders and activists have to play proactive role to free those families from such repression.

Jamaat Ameer said this while addressing a Eid union on 16th July 2022 virtually. Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka city south organized this program. Dhaka city South Ameer and central executive committee member Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the program which has been hosted by city Secretary and Jamaat’s working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Among others, Jamaat’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, Assistant Secretary General AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Maulana Abdul Halim, Jamaat’s central executive committee member Saiful Alam Khan Milon, Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda, Mobarak Hossain, central working committee member and Dhaka city South’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Monjurul Islam Bhuiyan, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city South Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, Dhaka city South’s Assistant Secretary Advocate Dr. Mohammad Helal Uddin, Md. Delwar Hossain, Kamal Hossain and Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan. On behalf of the martyr and victim families, former Jamaat Ameer Professor Ghulam Azam’s son Mamoon Al Azami, martyr Ameer Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami’s son Barrister Nazib Momen, martyr Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid’s son Ali Ahmad Mabrur, Shaheed Abdul Quader Molla’s son Hasan Jamil, detained Nayeb-e-Ameer and renowned Islamic scholar Allama Delwar Hossain Sayedee’s son Masood Sayedee, detained ATM Azharul Islam’s son Tasnim Azhar and other Dhaka city south leaders addressed the program.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, flood hit greater Sylhet and northern parts of the country since last 16th June. We have tried to assist the flood victims as much we can. But that was not enough. These victims lost houses, resources, cattle and everything in this flood. During this catastrophe, Dhaka city South assited the victims with food packets and other necessary items. Their activities over there drew the attention of all corners. I am expressing gratitude to the leaders and activists of Dhaka city South. You have rushed over there and helped people. Insha Allah, you will be rewarded for your tremendous effors.

Maulana ATM Masum said, the main target of Qurbani is to overcome the taste of faith and to become a good Muttaqi, to sacrifice personal preference for the sake of Allah’s directives. The man who is more dedicated, can emerge as a noble human being. We have to face the challenges of a man-oriented society and offer sacrifices repeatedly in order to build an Islamic society.

Hamidur Rahman Azad said, our organization’s main purpose will be fulfilled only then if we can successfully preach our narratives to the people. We have to ensure the victory of Islam in this country by utilizing our labor, time, money, and talent effectively.

Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda said, Allah has stated in the Holy Quran that He would examine us in this world in many ways. Sometimes with fear, with hunger, and often by causing harm to the lives and properties. Allah wants to test us in such a way as to figure out who is more patient. Certainly, paradise is awaiting only those patient people. To attain paradise, we have to overcome the test of faith.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, the faithful believer’s duty would be to comply with the directives of Allah and the Last Prophet. The real lesson of Qurbani is to sacrifice the dearest object for Allah’s satisfaction. We have to maintain the spirit and intention of sacrifices like our father Ibrahim (A) and his son Ismail (A).

Nurul Islam Bulbul said, I am making a call to operate our organizational activities comprehensively with the spirit of sacrifice and dedication. We have to apply the lesson of Qurani in all stages of our lives. Insha Allah, we will be able to overcome all barriers on our path with the strength of sacrifice and will make this Dhaka city and other parts of the country a fertile land of the Islamic movement. As a Dhaka city south Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul also expressed all guests and participants for joining the program.
