28th October’s tragic event was designed to kill the leadership of Islamic movement, says Maulana Abdul Halim

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Bogra city unit organized a prayer and discussion program commemorating the martyrs of the tragic event of 28th October. Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim addressed the program as the chief guest.

Maulana Abdul Halim said, the main target of the Awami League led 14 party alliance’s cadres and goons was to murder the top leaderships of Jamaat-e-Islami and also to obstruct the democratic trend of the country by hampering the power transferring process of the then 4 party alliances government. As a subsequent impact of 28th October, a state of emergency was imposed on 11 January of 2007. Electoral process was demolished and the nation came under the prey of an undemocratic forces. 28th October was made to stop the advancement of the Islamic movement. The courageous role of our leaders and activists would remain as the key forces to build the nation in the upcoming days.

Bogra town Jamaat Ameer Principal Abidur Rahman presided the program while city Jamaat’s secretary Professor ASM Abdul Malek hosted the program. Among others, city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Professor Abdul Hakim, IslamiChhatrashibirBogra city’s President Shahin Alam spoke on the occasion. Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Bogra region’s team member Principal Maulana Abdul Haq led the prayer session.
