Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s central executive committee member and central publicity Affairs Secretary Matiur Rahman Akanda said, 28th October is a tragic day for the nation. On this day of 2006, nationwide mayhems were orchestrated to discredit the independence and sovereignty of the country. The nation has been suffering from its impact till now. There is no rule of law and voting rights of the people now. Corruption is increasing at high pace. Murder, abduction, rape and false cases have made the people’s lives horrible. The citizens are leading miserable lives due to massive price hike of essentials but the government is not paying any heed to the crisis.
On this day of 2016, Awami League led 14 party alliance’s leaders and activists created anarchy and chaos nationwide. They killed people by using lethal weapons. 15 years have passed but the incumbent government did not try these crimes against humanity. Rather they withdrew the case on political consideration. But to try the offenders of this tragic event is necessary to free the nation from the political stigma. Whoever is hatching the conspiracy, no one has the capacity to wipe out the Islamic forces from this land.
He said this while addressing a discussion and prayer program on 27th October commemorating the martyrs of the tragic event of 28th October. Sylhet city Jamaat arranged the program. City Jamaat Ameer Fakhrul Islam presided the program while city Secretary Shahjahan Ali conducted the entire session. Jamaat’s central working committee member and Sylhet divisional leader Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Jubayer and Sylhet North district Jamaat Ameer Maulana Anwar Hossain Khan addressed the program as the special guests.
Among others, city Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Sohel Ahmad, Assistant Secretary Advocate Md. AbdurRab, Jamaat leader Alim Uddin, Sylhet city President of IslamiChhatrashibir Saiful Islam also spoke on the occasion. Following the program, special prayer was offered seeking blessing for the nation and salvation of the martyrs.
