Secretary General recalls the martyrs of 28 October; crimes increase nationwide as the killers of 28 October were not tried

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has issued the following statement on 28 October 2020 said that, the brutal massacres of 28 October were a part of the heinous conspiracy to destroy Islam and Islamic values. It was an ill-attempt against the national interest. The incidents of beating people to the death and the subsequent dancing of the killers over the dead bodies had exceeded the record of barbarism. Awami League led grand alliances had made this stigma. Jamaat’s Secretary General commemorates the sacrifices of all the martyrs of 28 October and prayed to Allah for the acceptances of their martyrdoms.

He said this while attending a discussion and prayer program as a chief guest held in an auditorium of the capital. Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dhaka city north unit arranged the program. Central Executive Committee member and Dhaka city North Ameer Muhammad Salim Uddin presided over the program. Central working committee member and Dhaka city North’s secretary Dr. Muhammad Rezaul Karim moderated the program. Among others, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka city North’s Assistant Secrtetary Lashkar Mohammad Taslim, central Majlish-e-Shura member Nazim Uddin Molla and Chhatrashibir’s central President Yasin Arafat were present in the program.

Mia Golam Porwar said, every believer wholeheartedly desires martyrdom. Almighty Allah declared the martyrs as the highest respected. Allah says in the Quran, “and say not of those who are slain in the way of Allah. "They are dead." Nay, they are living, though ye perceive (it) not.” (Sura Bakara: Verse 154)

The Prophet said, no people will desire to come back in the earth after making his entry in Janaah. Only the martyrs will do. He will be longing for returning into the earth and to accept martyrdom again and again. (Bukhari & Muslim)
The activists of the Islamic movement will have to make efforts with a unifying approach to accept martyrdoms. The nation is witnessing a mayhem of murder, abduction, rape, terrorisms and extra judicial killings as the murderers of 28 October were not tried. This failed government must be forced to leave in order to ensure the trial of all murders.

The crimes and misdeeds have exceeded all records now due to failure of the government. Women’s dignity is immensely tarnished. Torture against women cannot be stopped only by enacting laws. We have to ensure that dignity and honor of women which have been guaranteed by Islam. The recent rape incidents of Sylhet MC College and Noakhali have shocked the nation. Mostly the ruling party cadres are involved with these crimes.

The government has destroyed democracy and democratic institutions in a preplanned way just to linger its tenure. The election commission has arranged a farcical election to bring back this failed government into office. Even the recent by-elections have been affected by rigging and irregularities. So, to purify the electoral system there is no alternative but the stepdown of the Election commissioners.

Secretary General said, the armed forces are a prestigious institution for the nation. But in the name of mutiny, 57 skilled army officers had been murdered which subsequently weaken the defence capacity of the nation. Such weakness has been revealed once again in recent times as retired army officer Sinha Mohammad Rashed has been murdered and navy officer Wasif Ahmed has been assaulted by Erfan, the son of the ruling party lawmaker Hazi Salim. As such, there is no way to free the nation but ousting the government. Secretary General urged the nation to be united in order to dethrone the government.
