Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former MP Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher addressed a workers’ conference in the Pabna-4 constituency consisting of Ishwardi and Aatghoria Upazila today. At that time, Dr. Taher said, no election will be allowed under this political government. People have no confidence in this government. The incumbent tyrannical government is not allowing the people to speak out. Jamaat-e-Islami is not allowed to hold meetings, processions, or rallies even the in-house meeting. Opposition leaders and activists are being imprisoned now in connection with some false and fabricated cases.
Dr. Taher said we have to make a united effort to facilitate a free, fair, credible, and participatory election. We should continue the movement until the caretaker government is established. Besides, we have to be active in the field for election and simultaneously take all out preparation in this regard.
Addressing the conference as the special guest, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, this year is the year of movement and election. We should play a due role in this movement to ensure the voting rights of the people. As a worker of Jamaat-e-Islami, we should recorrect ourselves with noble character. He also said this land is enriched with the memories of Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami and Maulana Abdus Subhan (Rahimahullah). So, we have to work sincerely to secure the ultimate victory over here.
This workers’ conference was held virtually and was presided by district Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and Aatghoria Upazila’s former chairman Maulana Zahirul Islam and hosted by district’s working committee member Golam Rabbani Khan. Among others, the nominee of Pabna- 4 constituency and Pabna district Ameer Professor Abu Taleb Mondol, Islami Chhatrashibir’s Secretary General Monjurul Islam, Bogra region’s team member Professor Nazrul Islam, district Secretary and Pabna- 5 constituency’s nominee Principal Maulana Iqbal Hossain and others addressed the program.
