The incumbent fascist government has kept Jamaat Ameer and other top opposition leaders and activists behind the bar unlawfully. I am demanding the release of all political prisoners. Jamaat will play a pivotal role in the movement for ousting the government. Jamaat will not take part in any election without a non-party caretaker government. We are urging the government to hold an election under a neutral government.
Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher said this while virtually addressing a workers’ conference arranged by Gaibandha district Jamaat-e-Islami. Gaibandha-1 constituency’s coordinator Professor Shahidul Islam Manju presided over the program which was hosted by Upazila Secretary Professor Ataur Rahman.
Dr. Taher said we have to work relentlessly to establish a welfare state. We have to project our candidates and their noble qualities properly. We should be more active in the field. Besides we should be more conscious and well-organized in conducting our activities. Leaders should think more elaborately about their work and responsibilities. One of the basic qualities of a believer is his following day should be better than the previous day.
Addressing the program as the special guest, Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim said, we should form separate committees for each of the vote centers. We should ensure the voting rights of the people by engaging all departments of the organization. As Jamaat workers, we should be at the forefront of the process of changing society.
Rangpur-Dinajpur region’s Assistant Coordinator Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin said the holy Quran recommended getting involved with the Islamic movement by dint of wealth and life. So, we have to reach that benchmark. We should activate all the units and make all the sectors equally capable. We should make a balance between our tasks.
Among others, regional team member Maulana Abdul Khaleq, Gaibandha district’s former Ameer and noted physician Dr. Abdur Rahim Sarkar, Gaibandha district Ameer and Sadar Upazila’s former chairman Abdul Karim, Sundarganj constituency’s candidate and former Upazila chairman Professor Mazedur Rahman and Sramik Kollan Federation’s Assistant Secretary Advocate Alamgir Hossain addressed the conference.
