The constitution is the safeguard to protect the country’s sovereignty and guarantees the country’s freedom. But Awami League has distorted this constitution multiple times just for their political interest. They have snatched people’s right to expression away. Awami League also destroyed the democracy that the people achieved following the mass upsurge of 1990. The government has secluded the country from the world by carrying out looting, misrule, corruption, money laundering, and misusing the police force. By patronizing the secular forces, they are actually trying to impose the Hindu religion and culture upon the nation. Under the circumstances, there is no alternative but a caretaker government system in a bid to restore people’s rights. No fair election is possible in Bangladesh without a caretaker government.
Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary General Hamidur Rahman Azad said this while addressing a virtual workshop of the municipality and union level Ameer and Secretaries arranged by Narshingdi district Jamaat-e-Islami.
He further said the people are in utmost crisis now which has been created due to misrule, corruption, and price hike of the essentials. Jamaat-e-Islami had representation in all parliament sessions since the Independence. Jamaat also became able to bring quality change in politics. They have proved the politics of honesty in Bangladesh. Jamaat’s two ministers had set a unique example of honesty and they had made the respective ministry completely free from corruption. Jamaat sincerely played a strict role against all the tyrannical governments. Jamaat has patronized the positive trend of politics. Instead of jealousy, division, and disunity, Jamaat has been conducting constructive politics. By helping people in all natural and man-made disasters, Jamaat created a history of pro-people politics.
He said the people of the country love Islam. Jamaat-e-Islami became able to establish itself as the most favorite Islamic political party because of its Islamic politics. This is why the government has used state apparatus to resist Jamaat-e-Islami. Police are also attacking Jamaat’s processions frequently. But despite so much oppression, Jamaat became able to gain public confidence. Jamaat’s popularity is increasing. Jamaat will not take part in the next election if its demands are not met.
District Ameer Maulana Mosleh Uddin presided over the program which was hosted by district secretary Amzad Hossain. Jamaat’s central executive committee member Mobarak Hossain, Principal Ijjat Ullah, and others spoke on the occasion.
Mobarak Hossain said Jamaat’s message should be spread over the localities through the massive Dawah program. We should be firm to attain the set goals. The mass support for Islam should be turned into a mass upsurge. The return of the mass confidence to be given by establishing Islamic society. We have to come forward with systematic and democratic programs. We have to rescue people from this suffocating situation.
Principal Ijjat Ullah said Jamaat’s main target is to offer people a welfare state. This welfare state is possible only through social activities. As much our people are served with such activities, they will get the idea of the welfare state. Resultantly they will accept Jamaat more. So, the social service team, general service team, and election team should be set up in all areas. We should have sound preparation for the election if we want to establish a just society. He urged everybody to take part in the movement for establishing democracy and securing public rights.
