Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Acting Ameer and former MP Professor Mujibur Rahman said, the people of Bangladesh are deprived of all basic rights due to the long-term misrule of the incumbent government. Along with all the fundamental rights, the people are also deprived of voting rights. So, Jamaat leaders and activists should play an active role to secure the citizen’s rights. The government has kept Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman behind the bar in a case under the anti-terror act. Under the circumstances, Jamaat’s Upazila level leader’s duty is to create awareness and public opinion at the grassroots levels to bring back people’s rights and also to intensify the ongoing movement seeking the immediate release of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman.
Professor Mujib further said, Jamaat leaders should move forward with the power of faith and they have to overcome all repression including cases, tortures, and imprisonment by elevating religious deeds.
Acting Ameer said this while addressing a workshop of the Upazila level Shura and working committee members of Jamaat-e-Islami Jhinaidah, Magura, Norail, and Jessore districts.
Jhinaidah district Ameer and central Majlish-e-Shura member Professor Ali Azam Mohammad Abu Bakar presided over the program which was hosted by Norail district Ameer and central Majlish-e-Shura member Advocate Ataur Rahman Bachchu. Among others, Jamaat’s Acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum, Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim, central executive committee member, and Jessore-Kushtia region’s coordinator Mobarak Hossain, central Majlish-e-Shura member and regional team member Abdul Matin, Dr. Alamgir Bishash, Jessor city organizational district Ameer Professor Golam Rasul and Magura district Ameer Professor M B Baker addressed the program.
