Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said, the right to speak has been taken away and lots of laws, rules, and regulations have been enacted to restrain citizen rights. Whatever the government is saying about financial management, that is far away from reality. The government has laundered thousands of crores of money through looting and embezzlement. No country can function in such a way. Jamaat leaders and activists can not play a passive role in such critical conditions. This government should be dethroned and it should be done through a peaceful, legitimate, and systematic movement. If we can take to the street properly, the government will be compelled to step down Insha Allah.
He said this while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Ameer of Dhaka city south Jamaat in an auditorium of the capital on Friday evening. Regional coordinator and Jamaat’s acting Secretary General Maulana ATM Masum presided over the program. Among others, Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka city north Ameer Muhammad Salim Uddin, Jamaat’s central working committee member and Dhaka south city Nayeb-e-Ameer Monzurul Islam Bhuiyan, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, central working committee member and Dhaka south city Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, Dhaka south city’s Assistant Secretary Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Delwar Hossain, Abdul Mannan, city’s working committee member Mokarram Hossain and Syed Jainul Abedin were present on the occasion. It should be noted that, with the secret votes of the members, for the 2023-24 session, Nurul Islam Bulbul was re-elected as the Ameer of Dhaka south city Jamaat-e-Islami. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman conducted the oath of the south city Ameer.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, our love should be like that as almighty Allah desires. We should remain united. There is no limit to spreading Dawah activities. Bangladesh is a Muslim-majority country where 92 percent of people are Muslims. Space for practicing Muslims individually is becoming squeezed. Even the administration gave some directives to monitor the Tafsir program. Such a decision can cause untoward situations, warns Jamaat Ameer.
He said we have lost our rights in all aspects. The new voters even do not have the experience of casting votes. Newspaper reports, around 7 thousand crore taka have been withdrawn from a reputed bank which will never be redeemed. These ill deeds have been made by those vested quarters who hijacked the bank like robbers and all of a sudden became the authority. The government has made this country an economically failed state already.
Jamaat Ameer remembered all martyrs and previous leaders including the late Professor Ghulam Azam, Shaheed Maulana Matiur Rahman Nizami, and Maqbul Ahmed, and sought assistance from all to accomplish their unfinished tasks. He said, our martyr leaders proved that worldly matters are not significant. We should follow their guidelines and outstanding examples.
Maulana ATM Masum said, we have to work for the victim mass people who have lost their rights due to repression of the tyrannical government. The organization should be strengthened from the grassroots level.
Mohammad Selim Uddin said the Islamic movement is a rich movement. This is a revelation-based movement and the only way to keep ourselves away from Jahannam. The persons who are affiliated with this movement should increase their relationship with the Quran.
Nurul Islam Bulbul said the message of Islam should be conveyed to all houses. People of all professions and sections should be brought under the banner of Islam. Social leadership should be created along with skills and efficiency. Dhaka city will play a pivotal role in the upcoming days to save the nation from autocracy, he expected.
