Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said that although all those arrested during fascism have been released, the courageous voice against fascism, the valiant son of Rangpur, and oppressed public leader ATM Azharul Islam has not been released yet. He demanded that ATM Azharul Islam must be released immediately and unconditionally.

Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the Upazila/Thana Ameer conference organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Rangpur-Dinajpur region held at Rangpur Model College Hall on 27th February.

Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan also said that the local government is stagnant now. The citizens of the country are not able to do necessary work. Moreover, the importance of local government in maintaining law and order is immense. The people of the country want local elections first. Therefore, in general, local elections should be held before the national elections.

He said that the July massacre perpetrators should be tried quickly. At the same time, those who helped the fascists become fascists and who played a role in organizing fake votes and kept fascism in power for 15 years should be identified, brought to justice and they must be punished subsequently.

The Assistant Secretary also said that 20 million fake voters have been registered in the last 15 years. In this regard, he urged the Election Commission to take immediate steps to update the voter list and present the correct voter list to the nation.

He also said that those who laundered, corrupted, and looted the country's money during fascism should be tried and effective steps should be taken to quickly return the laundered money.

Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan said that all the accomplices of the fascist regime, inside and outside the government and those who are still active in establishing fascism must be resisted and brought to justice and the maximum punishment must be ensured against them.

He also said that the people of the country do not want to see any new fascism, extortion, looting, or occupation. The people of the country want a new Bangladesh based on justice and fairness.

The chief guest said that there is no alternative to honest and competent leadership to establish a corruption-free society. Jamaat-e-Islami is making efforts to create a group of honest and competent leadership. The people of this country are looking forward to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami. Therefore, we have to play an effective role from now on to fulfill the expectations of the nation.

In his speech at the conference, Assistant Secretary General and Rangpur-Dinajpur Regional Director Maulana Abdul Halim said that those are in charge should be aware of their responsibilities in addition to their field activities and should play an effective role in fulfilling the expectations of the people.

He also said that the chief guest has already spoken about the release of our beloved leader and Rangpur's valiant son, ATM Azharul Islam. I also have the same opinion that our oppressed public leader, Mr. ATM Azharul Islam, should be released immediately.

Jamaat-e-Islami's Central Working Committee Member and Regional Assistant Director Chairman Maulana Md. Momtaz Uddin presided over the conference which was hosted by central Working Committee and Regional Team Member Professor Mahbubur Rahman Belal. The team members of Rangpur-Dinajpur region and district and city Ameers and secretaries were also present at the conference.
