Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former lawmaker Professor Mia Golam Porwar has said, due to the conspiracy of the aggressor vested forces, our homeland Bangladesh is under severe threat now. Islam is the only safeguard to protect and preserve independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh. As Islam is not established and applied in all sectors, the country is severely suffering from corruption. The unlimited corruptions and irregularities have paved the way for looting in the banking sector and simultaneously it has collapsed the entire economy. The countrymen are deprived of their basic rights. Under the circumstances, the member candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami and all other workforces should play stronger role to protect the people and the properties. Dawah of Islam must be conveyed to every house of this city.
He said this while addressing a daylong workshop of member candidates organized by Dhaka south city today. Jamaat’s central executive committee member and Dhaka south city Ameer Nurul Islam Bulbul presided over the workshop which was hosted by city secretary and Jamaat’s working committee member Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud. Among others, Jamaat’s central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Abdus Sabur Fakir, south city Jamaat’s Assistant Secretary Dr. Abdul Mannan, central Majlish-e-Shura member and Dhaka south city’s working committee member Advocate S M Kamal Uddin and Dr. Mobarak Hossain, Abdus Salam, south city’s Assistant office secretary Abdus Sattar Sumon, Shahin Ahmed Khan and others were present on the occasion.
Mia Golam Porwar said, Jamaat member candidates should make sincere effort to make Islamic movement victorious. To invite people toward Islam is a mandatory obligation for every Muslim. So, we have to discharge this responsibility. It is a must to convey the message of Islam to the subordinate people. We will encourage people to do good deeds and to be refrained from doing bad deeds. The Prophet, peace be upon Him said, “Every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock. The leader of people is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects. A man is the guardian of his family and he is responsible for them. A woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and his children and she is responsible for them. The servant of a man is a guardian of the property of his master and he is responsible for it. No doubt, every one of you is a shepherd and is responsible for his flock.”
Nurul Islam Bulbul said, Jamaat has been working to establish an Islamic society in this country. We need a group of skilled and qualified people to build a noble society. Through this workshop, we are trying to train up our member candidates to make you skilled and qualified. To bolster the Islamic movement, we have to lead an oath-bound life. The companions of the Prophet (peace be upon Him) took such oath in different occasions including Baiyat-e-Ridwan, Aqaba, Hudaibiyah and the victory of Makkah. The companions also took such oath during the reign of 4 guided caliphs. So, such process of taking oath has been endorsed multiple times in the history of Islam. Similarly, you are in a process to take oath as member of the Islamic movement. May Allah accept all of you as oath-bound members.
Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud said, to expedite Islamic revolution in Bangladesh, we badly need a group of skilled, qualified and ideologically desperate people. There is no shortcut way. So, we are eager to make a workforce who are ready to accept Islamic rules, regulations and code of lives. So, the member candidates must prepare themselves in such a way and they should continue their efforts to include new qualified workers in the Islamic movement.
