Jamaat is helping poor and destitute families as per its capabilities, says Maulana Abdul Halim

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Assistant Secretary General Maulana Abdul Halim has visited the houses and shelters, constructed with the help of Jamaat-e-Islami in Angurpota of Dohogram under Patgram Upazila in Lalmonirhat district. He also distributed blankets among the winter victims and tins among the flood victims today.

At that time he said, as the temperature goes down, the people of the northern regions started facing suffering. The government took no initiative to facilitate welfare for these people. Jamaat, as an ideological party, cannot play a passive role in this crucial moment. As such, on behalf of our organization, we came to you.

He further said, the next election is to be held under a caretaker and neutral government. He urged everybody to remain prepared for the upcoming movement.

Today, 34 houses have been distributed among 220 families of 5 Upazilas of Lalmonirhat district whereas 1700 blankets, 12 tube wells ad 6 toilets have been handed over to the concerned families. Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman had made a promise earlier to provide such assistance during his visit of these areas on last 18th July 2022.

Among others, Jamaat’s central organizing secretary Principal Maulana Momtaz Uddin, Lalmonirhat district Ameer lecturer Ataur Rahman, district Nayeb-e-Ameer Maulana Habibur Rahman, district Secretary Advocate Abu Taher, Atitmari Upazila’s former vice- chairman Advocate Firoz Haider Lavlu, businessman Anwarul Islam Raju, Polashi Union council’s chairman Alaul Islam Baten, Patgram Upazila Ameer Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Hatibandha Upazila Ameer Hasan Ali were present on these occasions.
