Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman greets the countrymen on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha through a statement issued on June 4.

In his message, he stated: “The holy Eid-ul-Azha, enriched with the memories and lessons of Hazrat Ibrahim (A), his wife Hazrat Hajara, and their beloved son Hazrat Ismail (A), is approaching. Eid-ul-Azha inspires us with the spirit of sacrifice and devotion. It revives in our hearts the willingness to sacrifice everything for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah. The occasion encourages us to build a just society free from social discrimination and exploitation. We must follow Islam wholeheartedly at all stages of life with this spirit. Only then can we attain the satisfaction of Almighty Allah.”

He further added: “Although the fascists have fled the country, fascism still exists. They are creating chaos from abroad and from within the country. They are conspiring in various ways to prevent free, fair, impartial, and participatory elections. The government must end this situation and create an environment conducive to free, fair, and impartial elections. The nation must unite and remain vigilant against all anti-national activities. Until a humane Bangladesh is established in this changed situation, the people must continue their movement and struggle.”

As we approach the holy Eid-ul-Azha, we remember with deep respect the great sacrifices of Hazrat Ibrahim (A), his wife Hazrat Hajara, and their son Hazrat Ismail (A). If we can sacrifice our lives and beloved possessions to establish Allah's religion on this earth, then our sacrifices will be accepted and successful, InshaAllah.”

“On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, I sincerely pray to Almighty Allah for the happiness, peace, prosperity, good health, and safety of the nation. I extend heartfelt greetings to everyone on behalf of myself and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.”
