Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's central media and publicity secretary Advocate Matiur Rahman Akanda has issued a statement on December 15, protesting against the comments made by expatriate journalist Elias Hossain on his YouTube channel about Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer and former lawmaker Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.
In the statement, he said that in a video broadcast on his YouTube channel titled 'Asif Nazrul is running after YouTubers while ignoring the work of the ministry', expatriate journalist Elias Hossain made the comment that 'Jamaat-e-Islami's Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher maintains lobbying in India', which is not correct at all. Our clear statement in this regard is that Jamaat-e-Islami is an ideological party. All activities of Jamaat-e-Islami are public. Not only Dr. Syed Abdullah Md. Taher, any other leader or activist of Jamaat-e-Islami do not maintain lobbying with any other country. Every leader or activist of Jamaat is guided by the party ideology. No leader or activist of Jamaat-e-Islami has any opportunity to maintain lobby with anyone from home or abroad. Therefore, we are urging all quarters to refrain from making such comments that create confusion among the people about Jamaat-e-Islami.
