Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and former MP Professor Mia Golam Porwar issued a statement on 1st December, 2024 protesting the misrepresentation of Jamaat Ameer’s statement regarding "women's attires" by certain newspapers and media outlets.

In the statement, he said, "On November 30, at a workers' conference organized by the Satkhira district Jamaat, Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman’s statement regarding 'women's attires' was misrepresented by certain newspapers and media outlets. By presenting the statement with parts before and after it omitted, it was wrongly portrayed, creating confusion among the public. We protest this incorrect news reporting. However, some newspapers and media outlets have correctly published the Jamaat Ameer’s statement, and I express my gratitude to them.

Publishing such misleading and confusing news goes against journalistic ethics. I urge the concerned reporters, newspaper authorities, and media outlets to follow proper journalistic standards and to publish report in accordance with ethical guidelines in the future."
