Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, issued a statement on November 30 congratulating Abu Saleh Akand for being elected as the President and Mainul Hasan Sohel for being elected as the General Secretary of Dhaka Repoters Unity, DRU.

In the statement, he said, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and congratulations to all the winners of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Executive Committee election, including Abu Saleh Akand as the President and Mainul Hasan Sohel as General Secretary of DRU.

I hope that the newly elected leaders of the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Executive Committee will play a special role in the development, progress and establishment of democracy and human rights of the country. I also hope that they will play a leading role in uniting the nation by foiling all domestic and foreign conspiracies.
