Abdul Quader Molla, Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh issued the following statement today protesting the news titled “some body took part in the liberation war for achieving comely lady, some in his personal interest”
published in the daily Jugantor in the name of Assistant Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Abdul Quader Molla centring his speech delivered at a Dua Mahfil to commemorate Khatib of Baitul Mokarram National Mosque late Maulana Obaidul Haq at the National Press Club on 30 October, ’07.“I protest the confusing news titled “somebody took part in the liberation war for achieving comely lady and somebody in his personal interest” published in the daily Jugantor in my name centring the speech made to the journalists after Dua Mahfil to commemorate Khatib of the National Mosque late Maulana Obaidul Haq at the National Press Club on 30 October. I did not make such type of speech there. My speech was published with distortion. I have the highest respect for freedom fighters and liberation war. So it is unimaginable for me to make such type of remarks as regards liberation war and freedom fighters. After this statement I hope that all confusion will be removed.
I hope that the authority of the daily Jugantor will give chance to remove confusion publising my statement in your esteemed daily rightly.”
