Sporadic clashes between police and Jamaat-Shibir activists broke out at different parts of the capital on Tuesday afternoon, leaving 15 people.
Witnesses said a clash erupted in front of Prothom Alo office at Karwanbazar around 2 pm when police obstructed Jamaat-Shibir men from bringing out a procession.
Earlier, the Jamaat-Shibir activists torched two vehicles in the area.
Meanwhile, at least 15 people were injured in a clash between police and Jamaat-Shibir activists at city’s Panthapath in the afternoon.
Witnesses said the trouble began when a group of 20-25 Jamaat-Shibir men tried to bring out a procession and police foiled their attempt by firing rubber bullets and charging baton, leaving 15 people injured.
One of the injured was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Yet in another incident, police charged baton on a procession of Jamaat-Shibir men and fired rubber bullets on them near AGB colony in the Motijheel area.
Some crude bombs were also exploded during the trouble.
