Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan has issued the following statement on 16th July, 2017 protesting and condemning the baseless comment of the Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan what he said in a program in Madaripur claiming that ‘Jamaat is misleading the youth to recruit them in IS’.
“We have no word to condemn the fictitious comment of Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan saying that ‘Jamaat is misleading the youth to recruit them in IS’.
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is a systematic and democratic party. Jamaat never believes in the terrorist activities. Jamaat has always played significant role against all sorts of terrorism. So no question is emanated of having relation between Jamaat-e-Islami and IS. Shajahan Khan in previous occasions also delivered many foul statements. It has become his bad habit to implicate Jamaat-e-Islami with the wrongdoings. Because of his arrogant comments, ruling party leaders and activists are being compelled to term his as monster.
I am urging Shajahan Khan to be refrained from making such confusing and baseless comment against Jamaat-e-Islami in future.”
